Why is there actually so much spam?

In the USA, in the most states it is allowed, to send so called Open1-Messages, that means the sender is allowed to integrate-no matter, where he finds it, e-mail-addresses in a newsletter. Thats why there is so much spam.

Are the offers in spam real?

Probably yes. But there will be very sure not the originals, but cheap asian plagiarisms: Noble-clocks (f.e. „Rolex“) with an easy quarzmovement und cheap bracelet. Potency, which are produced in the Far East and which can be very unhealthy, stolen goods and illegal copies of software. For sure only, if you really get the goods. Because that is not always sure. So a very lucrative business against every E-Mail-address.

How many spammers are out there?

Statistics say, that there are about hundred people, who bully 1 billion of E-Mail-users.

How can you stop the spammers now?

1. Avoid using of „Mass software“, that means no Outlook, no Internet Explorer. Instead of that better Firefox or Mozilla. There are also very good alternative E-Mail-Software like Pegasus, Lotus-Notes etc. Your IT-Expert will surely help you to choose software.
2. If f.e. MS-Outlook is very important for you, then you have always to install

How can I prevent, that my mail-address is being abused?

1. Don’t let your E-Mail-address be led in Online-information or otherwise on CD
2. If you pass on E-Mails, always use the Bcc-function, otherwise every receiver gets the address of the other receivers.
3. Bundle your E-Mail-communication to as few as possible E-Mail-Adresses.

What else can I do?

If you’re not our customer, then:

• Don’t make you websites and web formulars of your E-Mail-adresses directly watched in the source.
• Producers and friendly companies establish your address in the internet and prevent that.

Or: Simply get a customer of us!

Advantage:

• You never lose an order, because a potential client doesn’t find your E-Mail-Adress
• You will really get just clean E-Mails.

What is form Spam?

Form-Spam is made by so called bots (automatical software), which attacks the contact form of your website, enters data there and sends the form. The spammer hopes to establish a link to his page in your guest book. If search engines find that link, the page of the spammer will be classified better, because you refer to it. The „Spammer-Page“ will be e.g. by Google shown on the top.

Who reads Form-Spam?

Spam in Guest books will be „normally“ only read by search engines, which determine there, how popular the linked page is.

What can you do against Form-Spam?

1. Put your Sender-address always as fixed address (if it isn’t set automatically)
2. Make sure, that the domain of your sender address always is on the same server as the form. 
3. Use Captcha, random numbers or similar to avoid the automatic sending of the forms. 
4. Proof the evaluation of the form, that the referer (the referring page) is the web address of the form. 
5. Let the forms check twice before you send it 
6. Don’t leave links in your guest book, only if you have released it yourself 
7. Do link friendly pages on your page, but only wkth an entry, which is done by you.
